Geroldsee — one of those views painted a thousand times for good reason. The barn, the lake, the Karwendel behind. Mountains soft, so the little roof can carry the weight of it.

An original watercolour of the Geroldsee in the Bavarian Alps, on Arches HP 100% cotton. The dark Karwendel range stands above the small village of Krün near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, with a single red-roofed wooden barn and a wildflower meadow tumbling down to the water. One of the most photographed scenes in southern Germany; here, the mountains have been held back so the barn and the bloom can do the work.
